Spring is here at last. The weather is wonderfully warm. Daylight savings time means longer days. It’s definitely time to dust off your scooter and get out into our beautiful region. Here are some ideas t0 get you thinking.
Go fishing. Grab a line and head down to the Jetty to catch yourself some Whiting, Flathead or Bream. Or go out to Urunga in search of Snapper or Jewfish.
Watch the sunrise from the Jetty. Get up early and head down to the very end of the Coffs Harbour Jetty to watch the skyline turn from midnight blue to soft yellow.
Go for a “stroll” on the southern breakwater. Take yourself out along the break wall on the south side of the Jetty. All that freshly poured concrete makes for a smooth ride.
Meander round the Coffs Creek Cycleway. The 9km shared footpath and cycleway will take you past some of Coff’s great sites, including the Botanic Garden, Pet Porpoise Pool and Jetty Beach.
Watch the sunset behind the Great Dividing Range. Take a spin along the Urunga Boardwalk, then look back for breathtaking views of the town framed by the Great Dividing Range.
Take in a movie at Sawtell Cinema. The cinema now has wheelchair and scooter access and seating.
Have lunch at the Coffs Harbour Surf Club. Yes, the restaurant is on the second floor, but there’s a lift to get you there. And the views are among the best in town.
Take time to smell the roses at the Botanic Gardens. There are 5ks of well made paths to be explored in this lovely, peaceful retreat – including the Japanese Garden.
